| The Problem: |
| - According to the RCMP, 800 to 1200 people are trafficked in and through Canada every year. |
| - Trafficking in Canada has consequences estimated between $120 million to $400 million per year and accounts for approximately 8,000 to 16,000 people arriving in Canada per year illegally. ("Organized Crime Impact Study," Solicitor General of Canada) |
| - According to CFHT's experience, victims are primarily Canadian Citizens. Whether foreign or Canadian the problem needs to be completely obliterated. Eliminate the demand, eliminate the problem. |

| Subsequently, Bill C-268 is still considered passed by the House of Commons and will resume in the Senate at Second Reading on March 3, 2010. |

Convictions in Canada
“The Government of Canada demonstrated progress in law enforcement actions against human traffickers last year, securing the convictions of five offenders under specific human trafficking provisions of the Criminal Code passed in 2005, marking the first convictions under these newer sections of the law.” (Trafficking in Persons Report 2009) |
